Royal Ascot Day 1 brings back so many fabulous memories and I am now hating myself for staying up to watch the races which began in Australia on Sky World at 11.30pm, first jump.

I was set to jump on a flight at 2am last minute to be a part of the action, but this horrid flu flying around the southern states of Australia has me congested and miserable. I dare say 'Lizzie' (HRH), would immediately order me back to the colonies not to return as I may be plagued.

The first day of 'Royal Ascot' is to me one of the best in Racing with Group 1 fixture and for Australian's or those unacquainted to the style of racing in United Kingdom, a day to see the Furlongs, The Final Sprint to Finish Line, and Where they kick.

It is an undulating course around the back for the longer races and it is tough. The horse are more slight to their Australian Counterparts, but I love watching the worlds best Thoroughbreds fight it out in front of the Queen.

The fashion is always a very 'proper' day, with 'ladies day' in a couple of day the draw card. It is for mainly Racing enthusiasts, although the ladies in their dainty fashion always look formidable. There are always the 'Bigger is Better' look at Royal Ascot, and this is fun to watch and it gets bigger and more crazy as the days go by. Even Australian serial 'photo bombers' look like mere chameleons among the Best of British. America may have the 'Bold', 'Keeping up with the Kardashians', but in United Kingdom, it is allot more demure, 'Keeping up with Aristocracy'.

I have many pics that I will be watching what the ladies are sporting through the week although very few go for races on all days in United Kingdom.

Meanwhile I am keeping my eyes on the computer and on UK time zone to watch the races with Sky Racing World with great commentary by Shane Anderson. I am trying to keep my excitement to a dull roar here as any exerted energy means an extra day in bed with the Flu.

Don't forget to stalk my Papp and Snapp at Royal Ascot Colin who is doing a wonderful job for me. Thank you Colin.
