November is reaching Fashion Fever pitch right now, with Australia's most hotly contested fashion event to take centre stage next week, I thought I better head to Racing HQ and check the competition and where we are heading for 2012.
Colours, Floral and Patterns are taking centre stage and Neon seems to be the trend on everyone's lips right now.
It was 'Hold onto your Hats' this morning as Antarctica decided to sweep a fresh gust of wind from the South straight to Flemington. No one spared in the line of duty, dare I say, my Philip Treacy was delicately place on a seat so I could capture images and Fifi Box's hat was swiftly taken from her head all together.
'Racing Fashion' had the honour of an interview with word renown hatmaker Philip Treacy, who since last year the name of this hatter brings ideas of Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, Roylty and Victoria Beckahm who has reinvented the word 'Posh'. (Formerly known as Port Out, Starboard Home.)
As for the interview, most commercial stations were asking regular questions for the public where I tried to delve deeper into the interview with viewpoints from a hat maker and what other milliners would want to know. Racing Fashion TV season 5 is going to be a real treat with heaps of international guests as well as locals.
I am sure Fifi Box is praying for sunshine as my fur became one of the most coveted items last year back stage, (sorry greenies, it is vintage) and Jeff Banks is warming up his vocals to commentate on all the styles and inspirations for this years, 'Myer Fashions on the Field'.
What everyone may have thought about this competition, with claws and nastiness, well if you were to see what I saw backstage, you would be happy to know all competitors are were sitting huddled together chatting and reminiscing of former outfits and how they love the competition. These ladies have all embraced the fashion sport that is 'Fashions on the Field', and are all excited of the idea of being the final lady standing at the end of the day, but there are only compliments, smiles and shivers backstage today.
Everyone heading to the track next week, I wish you the best in being 'Racing Fashion Fabulous' and where what best suits you. Not what you think is fashion, it is about comfort and what you love. Enjoy the experience, it is such a pleasure and an honour to be among you all during carnival and showcase you ALL on Racing Fashion TV. I make no money and it is a huge expense, but I believe taking the camera off the celebrities and showing the women of Fashions on the Field and regular Race goers gives a true interpretation of what 'Racing Fashion' is. Good Luck to all. xxxx
