Something I really love about Spring Carnival is the beginning of ‘Fashions on the Field’, where we are going to get a taste of the season ahead. Melbourne is taking a leaf out of Queenslanders book and embracing colour. Yay!
Really there are not many to fault although you may spot one or two and please gentlemen that want a quick 5 seconds of fame for being silly, save it for a bucks night, not Fashions on the Field. Of course being Caulfield we saw all different styles being embraced although only one 50s or lets say 60s look. Thank goodness, moving right along.
I would like to thank all the contestants that were of the highest caliber, judges knew their stuff and it was a very hard decision. I did not envy their task. The judges were Cheryl Weir, Dahaav Naidu, Karen Webster and Renuke Rajadurai. Giaan Rooney is probably the best Caulfield ambassador I can remember and Bree Laughlin is very lucky to have her as a mentor for the ‘Face of Caulfield’.
In ladies under 40 going through to the final we have Annaliee Cordell, Brooke Walker and of course the stand out Mildred Ellwood. Ladies the right side of fabulous into the final are Pam Charleston, Jeannie Todaro and the gorgeous Josephine Juliano.
I am always blessed to catch up with all the milliners and of course there was the fabulous Peter Jago, Annette Sanfillipo, Melissa Jackson with Kim Fletcher, Jill Humphries and Danica Erard dropping by to see the action. A fantastic day was had by all and again I am looking forward to the finals were we will see these ladies parade once more.
