Oaks Day this year was bigger and better than ever before, the only thing missing was dearly beloved Peggy Stone, who is always snapping away at the millinery marvels. Peggy, you were missed. The standard of fashion contestants was beyond sublime with everyone really upping the anti. I was so excited wearing one of Liza Stedman's last gumnut pieces made, I thought why not have my own 'Alfred Hitchcock' moment and enter fashions on the field. I was very excited to prance my stuff on stage in Liza. I made it through to the preliminarys and had a blast with the ladies back stage, we were interviewing, make-up ing, and sharing lots of fun fashion storys.
Thank you ladies for sharing in my excitement of the day and cheering along all your friends. I must admit I did love giving my camera men a shock of me coming out on stage, 'never a dull moment' as I am well known for.
I was having a bit of a chin wag (Australian for chat) with Alex Foxcroft who won on the day and I was saying she all seems to take everything in her stride and make it all look so easy. She laughed and says 'I am really nervous!', you would never know with Alex always having that gorgeous confident stride often placing in the biggest fashion event competition in Australia. I loved chatting with all the ladies backstage and adored the millinery award as always. Have a peruse through the photos and decide on who you would have liked to win. Remember if you are up there having a go, you are a winner!
