Something that excites all women the right side of fabulous is that Caulfield and Melbourne Racing Club have brought in an age category of over 40+. I am not saying we cannot compete with the gorgeous ladies of twenty something, but it is allot easier to compete, as we all know that our bodies embrace a different shape when we enter our 30s and once we embark on childbirth, there is usually another wardrobe all together.
Mornington Fashions on the Field of 2012 did not disappoint with many of the mature age ladies showing the younger category how it is done. Elegance and cool charm were the winners on the day.
Lisa Wilson was the first runner up wearing a vintage frock, although it did remind me of the Fendi cut out dress about 4 – 5 years ago. We thought it was very summer and appropriate for the weather although on very hot days, leather gloves are allot better being held or not worn at all. Remember when wearing gloves yesteryear to the races they were only worn inside the track or to your destination and then taken off unless it was a hot day.
Leonora Romensky suitably took out the winning outfit of the day, taking into account the weather with a beautiful light weight dress with a 20s inspired straw cloche type hat. The crochet gloves were also a huge winner to me.
When judging fashions on the field, you want to feel that the contestants are happy and that they are comfortable in their outfits. This would have to have been the best fashions on the field line ups I have ever seen, so ladies, please take good note that you are all winners!
Thank you ladies for giving myself, Peter Jago and Anika, stylist from Chadstone such a pleasure, we were in awe of you all.
