Many had been up in the air with the late notice of where the final heat besides Melbourne was going to hold it 'Myer Fashions on the Field' in NSW. As we soon found out it was at Sofitel at Wentworth Sydney.
I must admit, this did disappoint me as I am a die hard track lover, although the heats and finals were held early so you could head to the track later. I was tempted to send a photographer to the track to see if there were any well attired ladies wondering around.
Wonderful to see that the competition did go ahead but I really would have loved to see the competition be held at the track as I had to choose between Turnbull Stakes Day, which unfortunately had to leave early or fly to Sydney and I chose the races.
I love the racing fashion, but is there too much emphasis on 'Fashion' where the Racing may be taken out of it. I hope not and I am sure that 'Fashions on the Field' will always stay at home at Melbourne Cup Carnival.
A splendid turn out for the day, but I hope everyone headed to Randwick to take in the equine festivities. That is the tradition of where Racing Fashion comes from and will stay.
Congratulations to the beautiful Amy Robson with her well deserved win, we look forward to seeing you in Melbourne to take part in Australia's most prestigious outdoor fashion competition.
