Hang up your Neon ladies as I am told this horse has ran its last race, that is right, after the colour block craze of last year, Neon my take a bow and leave the building.
Magic Millions is one thing for sure and that is HOT! All ladies attending this event were in dire need of hydration and fanning as they kept their cool in the heats, (pardon the pun) to strut their stunning outfits on stage. May I mention, that it is not just the ladies on the stage that are packing a punch in the fashion stakes, but ladies watching on and generally all around the track were suitably attired.
Peplums are here for another season, and I am sure some how, the wonderful Craig Braybrook had something to do with this. His winning Fashions on the Field Designer Award was peplum perfect.
How wonderful to see Georgia Gardiner win 'Magic Millions, Fashions on the Field', she made her own hat and wore Neon Orange Lace, which looked beautiful on a 34o Day.
I am so glad to see new faces joining in the festivity of fashion and loving hats. The most important thing about Fashions on the Field, is you should be able to Win, Lose or Draw and walk away with the same feeling you walked up to take on the stage with.
Don't be nervous, as you already look fantastic, don't wonder about your competition, as it should be about you doing your best and feeling your best, and always be gracious. We are very blessed to have the gift of being to live in such a beautiful place and showcase how we feel through dressing. Due to the heat my outfit had to do a turnaround in a day and I did have Millinery malfunction on my part where because of trying to disguise my despair in the heat I tried to Joojh up a piece of netting under my headband only for it to melt forward and look like a 20s flapper, (oh well, the 20s are in). You have to have a giggle.
I have had a wonderful carnival and just be prepared when you come to Magic Millions that it is a mid Summer Carnival so be prepared. Slip Slop Slap! Sunscreen!
