Always love the beginning of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival and it all starts here at Caulfield with Guineas Day. There was a lack of attendees, although the drunken badly dressed louts that congregate to see a dress maybe fly in the air with wind.
It was a subdued beginning to carnival but rather nice with mainly Racegoers around us and friendly familiar faces.
Fashions on the Field was as competitive as ever with Amanda Macor who has been winning for a number of years take out another title of 40 and fabulous + with fun Mink Pink sunglasses.
As for the gentlemen Ben Carbonaro and Michael McAlpine stood out to the judges in a well put together suit with fabulous attention to detail, although in not all instances made the final. The gentlemen's competition is getting more and more competitive every year, not to mention the ladies who keep on stepping it up each year.
Many faces were missing as there were 'Myer Fashions on the Field' NSW heats in Sydney. Ladies entering this competition I think it would be to your advantage to check the Terms and Conditions as they have slightly changed in the past years.
Having the same judges form beginning to end does make it easier for the competitors to know what the judges are looking for with more consistency.
Next week at Caulfield Cup we will see the finals with 12 Competitors fight it out for the coveted title of being deemed most fashionable for Caufield Cup Carnival for 2013. Stay Tuned and heaps more to come.
